Van Persie named Manchester United's best player in January

The 29-year-old has scored 22 times in 28 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United since his summer transfer from Arsenal, with five of Van Persie's goals coming in the month of January.
Van Persie began 2013 with a double against Wigan in a 4-0 victory at the DW Stadium, before following his brace with a wonderful finish to grab a late draw against West Ham in the FA Cup.
The former Arsenal captain then found the net in his next two games, with the opener in the victory against Liverpool and United's goal in 1-1 draw with Tottenham, to complete his scoring for the month.
Van Persie finished ahead of Ryan Giggs, Patrice Evra, Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck in the poll conducted by Manchester United's official website, with the Netherlands international receiving over half of the votes cast.
It is the second time in successive months that Van Persie has won the award, while he remains on course to end the season with the Premier League's Golden Boot and the league title.
